Sitemap.xml

Build a sitemap.xml that lists your pages so search engines can find and index them faster.

A sitemap.xml lists the pages on your site so search engines can find them. The Sitemap.xml page builds one from your URLs, and you decide what goes in it.

Create your sitemap.xml

  1. Open Site Health → Sitemap.xml in the dashboard.
  2. Review the list of your URLs. You can edit a URL, switch it off, or remove it, and press Add New URL to include another page.
  3. Press Generate to build the file. After that, press Save Changes whenever you edit the list.
  4. Copy or Download your sitemap.xml.
  5. Host the file at your domain, at the address the page shows.
  6. Add it to Google Search Console so Google knows where to find it.

A banner at the top tells you what the latest site audit found, for example a missing or empty sitemap.

Robots.txt

Generate a robots.txt file that tells search engines and AI crawlers which parts of your site to read.
